Q. Do you have locally grown product?

A. Yes, we have a great relationship with local farmers, many of whom sell under the Eastern Market sheds. We will have more Michigan and Detroit-grown product during Michigan’s growing season in the spring, summer, and fall months.

Q. Do you have any product from Detroit-based food businesses?

A. Yes, we are thrilled to offer an assortment of products from some of our favorite Detroit-based and other locally owned businesses. Through our partnership with FoodLab Detroit and Detroit Kitchen Connect, we have met some incredible Detroiters who are making some of the best snacks, cakes, pies, and jams anywhere!

Q. Why is it important to shop at Red Truck?

A. We believe our product is second to none. We also believe our mission goes beyond just caring about the bottom line. We are a partnership working towards increasing job access in Detroit with a focus on training workers to own the work they produce. We are also planning health education programs in the store that can assist the local community on eating better and being healthier.

Q. What is Gratiot Central Market?

A. It is an indoor food market in the Eastern Market District at the corner of Gratiot and Russell St. There are 8 different vendors that sell everything from beef, pork, fish, and poultry, to baked goods, cheese and health products. Red Truck Fresh Produce is the first full-time produce store in Gratiot Central Market in quite some time.

A. Eating more produce results in better health, and better health means a happier you! Don’t know how to prepare a product? Ask an employee for a tip and take some recipe cards we have displayed in the store!
